After travelling up a few very long inlets on the west coast of Vancouver Island imagined the view from high on the mount tops.

The five towns of the Cinque Terre are just magical and the vistas from the walking trails are spactacular.

This painting was inspired from visiting hilltop towns of Tuscany. Of course I took a lot of liberties

checking the crab traps

A remininsance of my youth when life was safe and secure and one did not have to worry about the troubled world. In the painting a man is rowing in the harbour to check his crab trap. To this day, the harbour still supplies one with fresh crab.
